Statement of Faith
The Trinity
God is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three are eternally coexistent and live in perfect, eternal relationship with one another Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Acts 5:3-4; Heb. 1:8
God's Sovereignty
God is sovereign, omniscient, and self-sufficient. Before time began He ordained all things and is incapable of error. God is still presently in control of all aspects of creation Psalm 115:3; Psalm 135:5-7; Isaiah 14:24-26; Acts 2:23; Acts 4:28; Heb. 4:13; 1 John 3:19-20
The Fall and Salvation
Man is inherently fallen and separated from God, and cannot reach God on his own: we need divine intervention which comes by grace through faith Gen. 1:26-27; Gen. 2:17; Gen. 3:6; Rom. 5:12-19; Eph. 2:1-3; Eph. 4:18; Mark 7:20-23
Christ's Atonement
Jesus Christ really existed in history, and continues to exist seated at the throne of David. He is God the Son made flesh and born of the virgin Mary, and is both fully God and fully man John 1:15; Matt. 1:18-25; Matt. 26:38; John 11:33; John 8:40

Jesus Christ lived a perfectly sinless life, and died on the cross as the atonement for our sins, that all who repent and believe in Him may be clothed in His righteousness 2 Cor. 5:14; Mark 10:45; Rom. 3:24-26; Rom. 5:8-9; 1 Pet. 3:18

After dying on the cross, Jesus Christ rose again on the third day, conquering death, and ascended to Heaven where He continues to rule as the Great High Priest and is the Intercessor between God and man. He will one day return bodily in His final judgement Rom. 1:4; John 20:25-27; 1 John 2:1; Heb. 7:25; Mark 16:19; Acts 1:9-11
Marriage and Sexuality
God intentionally designed man and woman, and divinely ordained marriage as a covenant to mirror His perfect sacrificial love. Any union or behavior outside of this institution- such as adultery, fornication, transgenderism, or homosexuality- is not a part of God’s vision of marriage Gen. 1:27-28; Heb. 13:4; Rom. 1:18-32; Ex. 20:14; Matt. 19:4-6, 9; 1 Cor. 6:9-10, 15-20; Jude 7
The Scriptures
The Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are God-breathed and the ultimate authority in our lives as Christians Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21
The Devil
Satan is a real force of evil who, after turning against God, attempts to stop God’s plans and defeat them. Ultimately, he fails Eph. 6:10-19; Luke 10:18
Peripheral
On non-salvation topics, Sowers Books will not put forth any one particular stance. True, Bible-believing Christians find Scriptural evidence for both sides. Since these issues do not affect faith in Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice, they are not primary issues. These doctrines include, but are not limited to: the modes of baptism, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the order of events of Genesis, the events of the Lord’s Second Coming, and degree of separation from worldly practices. We believe true believers on both sides of each theological position can, and should, have loving discussions on these topics even if it ends in disagreement Rom. 14:1-15:7; 2 Tim. 2:23-24; Titus 3:9
